Waaaah having one of those days where you are super busy and the kids sporting commitments seem to sneak up on you and you need something quick for dinner? This is the recipe for you! My version of Cristina’s Creamy Garlic Prawns – original recipe HERE
4-5 garlic cloves
1/2 teaspoon of chilli flakes (or powder)
1 tablespoons of plain flour
250g of water
1 tablespoon of Thermomix stock
1/2 cup of cream
4 tablespoons of white wine
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
500g of raw prawns peeled
Salt and pepper to taste
Parsley and or basil to garnish
Serve with long grain, jasmine or basmati rice.
Prepare rice in Thermomix as per EDC recipe and set aside in thermoserver.
Chop garlic for 5 seconds on speed 5
Add butter and chili and sauté for 5 minutes, Varoma temperature, speed 1.
Add flour and stir for 5 seconds on speed 5.
Whilst on speed 1 add stock, cream, water and wine and mix for a 5 seconds.
Cook on Varoma temp, speed 1 until Varoma temperature is reached (approximately 3 minutes)
Add mustard while on speed 1 and season to taste.
Add prawns (shell & tails removed) and cook for 5 minutes, 100C on reverse, speed soft.
Serve on rice garnished with fresh parsley and or fresh basil.
