Thermomix Sausage Rolls

I’ve been making sausage rolls since I was a teenager and I have to admit the part I didn’t like was mooshing all the ingredients together, the thermomix makes the preparation of this dish so much easier! This recipe is for basic kid friendly sausage rolls, they are so easy that you’ll never buy them again!

Ingredients

3 sheets of puff pastry or homemade equivalent

5 x pieces of white or wholemeal bread, outside pieces are ok

500g Sausage mince

1 Tablespoon of dried mixed herbs

1 Egg

Salt, Pepper and other herbs to taste

Sesame Seeds, Poppy Seeds for topping

 Method

Preheat oven to 200c, remove puff pastry from freezer and lay flat on bench, leave backing on.

Loosely tear bread so it fits in jug and chop on Speed 8 for 7 Seconds

Add mince, salt, pepper and mixed herbs, Turbo Pulse for 1 second, three times

Cut each sheet of pastry in half lengthways

Distribute sausage mixture evenly between the 6 sheets by rolling into 6 even balls

Shape balls into sausage shapes and roll up dough, cut to desired size

Whisk up the egg and use the egg wash to top the sausage rolls

Top with sesame seeds, poppy seeds or other flavours of your choice

Bake for 15 minutes or until golden

Hint & Tips

Use different toppings to identify different flavour sausage rolls

Other flavours can be added – half an onion (chop for 3 seconds on speed 10 prior to bread) Chilli, bacon, cheese, spinach. Simply chop in Thermomix bowl before adding the mince mixture.

Move cut pieces of sausage roll away from one another on the oven tray to allow an even cooking process

    My mum used to make sausage rolls with chicken mince which Im going to use when I make these.
