Hi everyone, Mrs F here, joining the Thermo Dreaming team. To be honest, I’m very flattered to have been asked to contribute to this page, but I almost feel like I don’t belong here.
Because… I HATE COOKING.
There. I said it. I own a Thermomix and I hate cooking. BUT, that’s the precise reason I purchased a Thermomix to begin with; to make my time in the kitchen a LOT easier.
I’m a stay at home mum to three beautiful kids aged almost 5, just gone 3, and 16 months. Needless to say, I have a busy life! In addition, Master almost 5 is an extremely fussy eater, which makes cooking a nightmare for me. And it’s not hard to see where he picked up those habits from – Mr F has a repertoire of about 8-10 meals. He has NEVER tried pasta or rice, does not eat steak, chicken or fish, and only very recently tried zucchini and sweet potato for the first time. This is a man who prefers to eat spaghetti and meatballs OUT OF A CAN as opposed to homemade. So I’ve been facing an uphill battle with cooking for my family for a LONG time.
Understandably, my Thermomix doesn’t get as much of a workout as Mrs P’s or Mrs T’s, but my aim in being a member of this page is showing people how easy it is to use their Thermomix, especially if they dislike being in the kitchen or have a multitude of fussy eaters like me. My focus will probably steer more towards foods that are ideal for lunch boxes or freezer meals; as I tend to make MY meals in bulk and freeze them to defrost later in individual portions.
My recipes aren’t ground breaking – in fact, none of them are my recipes. I tend to follow the cookbook, as I generally have no idea what I’m doing anyway. But hopefully, I can help inspire those that detest the kitchen and feel as clueless as I do when it comes to cooking.
Look forward to sharing my experiences with you all!
Day 1 Monday
From the kitchen of Mrs F this evening; pikelets from the EDC but with a twist – hidden apple, pear and carrot. Considering Miss 3 had seven, Master almost 5 had five and Master 16 months had two, I think it’s safe to say it was a hit with the kids! Even better, Mr F had a few and gave them his tick of approval 🙂
